Mineral production shows growth

The mineral production from mining and quarrying sector registered a positive growth of 2.4 per cent in November 2003 compared to the preceding month mainly due to higher production of coal, lignite, bauxite, chromite, gold, iron ore, lead conc., manganese ore, apatite, phosphorite and magnesite. The mineral production during the month recorded a positive growth of 4.1 per cent compared to that of the corresponding month of previous year. The mineral sector has shown a positive growth of 4 per cent during the first eight months of the current financial year as compared to the same period of previous year.
