Pune's first energy park is ready
With the completion of phase-I of the Peshawe Energy Park project in Pune, at a cost of about Rs 75 lakh, the park is ready for inauguration. The Pune Municipal Corporation and Maharashtra Energy Development Agency have jointly implemented the project.
The park, spread across 5 acres, aims at educating children about the various modes of non-conventional energy generation. The park will be powered by a 20 KW power plant, the electricity for which will be generated by solar panels fitted there. The park will have five pavilions (wind, biomass, solar and hydro), each of which will provide general information on the different forms of non-conventional energy generation. It will also have a track for go-karting, an amphitheatre and solar boating in the next phase.
