A pipe conveyor that negotiates curves

The UK-based Dosco Overseas Engineering Ltd (Dosco) is manufacturing a pipe conveyor system that is designed to follow the natural contours of the land. The conveyor can negotiate bends and climb steep gradients thus separating it from more conventional systems. It eliminates spillage and creates a shield for diverse weather and environmental conditions.
Dosco is a specialist manufacturer of heavy and medium capital plants for key markets like mineral mining, civil tunnelling, material handling and recycling, and mineral processing. The company's equipment is currently exported to over 52 countries. In India, the company has three agents, namely Greaves Cotton Ltd, Masyc Projects Pvt. Ltd and Simplicity Projects Pvt. Ltd, besides a tie-up with Enexco Teknologies India Ltd which is into cement plant equipment business.

Advantages

  • Completely enclosed and dust free transport of material
  • No spillage or scattering of material from loaded belt
  • No dropping of material from return belt
  • Conveyor can be curved both horizontally and vertically
  • Conveyor can rise at steep angles
  • Return belt can also be used to convey material.

The Dosco range of pipe conveyors can be used with a wide range of materials and offer a number of advantages when compared with traditional troughed conveyors. The range of services includes feasibility studies, design and manufacture, installation and commissioning through to turnkey supply of the complete pipe conveyor.
The pipe conveyor is a modern, state-of-the-art transport system, solving many of the problems associated with the conventional conveying system such as scatter and spillage of material, limited angle of inclination and inability to negotiate curves.
At the loading point, the pipe conveyor is open, with conventional troughing, and on the transport length it is formed into a pipe shape containing the material. It returns to an open form slightly ahead of the discharge pulley. As the material is completely enclosed by the belt, there is no spillage or scatter of the material, therefore controlling pollution.
The pipe conveyor can negotiate horizontal curves as well as vertical curves, which has not been possible with conventional troughed belt conveyors. The initial costs as well as the running costs of the pipe conveyor are very economical.
