RFQ for Kenya and Uganda Railways

The Government of Kenya and the Government of Uganda have invited pre-qualification bids from the private sector for the joint concession of Kenya Railways and Uganda Railways. The private sector is invited for participation in freight traffic operations at both the railways through 25-year concessions, and a 7-year concession for passenger traffic of Kenya Railways. The International Finance Corporation and Canarail, Inc. are the respective transaction advisors to Kenya Railways and Uganda Railways.
The RFQ is available online at the Kenya Ministry of Finance (www.treasury.go.ke), Uganda Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (www.perds.go.ug) and International Finance Corporation Advisory Services (www.ifc.org/advisory).
The last date of submission of pre-qualification is October 15, 2004.
