Tourist circuit for North Malabar

PM News Bureau

The Kerala government is planning to develop the North Malabar region as a tourist circuit. The foundation stone for the Rs 1.72 crore tourist complex at Paithalmala has been laid. The complex is part of the Union government's integrated development of tourism circuit project. Quintessential Kerala-style buildings will be constructed.
The state government has also sanctioned various tourism projects at Paithalamala valued at more than Rs 3 crore. This include an eco-development project and a tourist complex. The Centre has already sanctioned Kannur Airport, which would help to boost tourism. Other tourism projects include development of the Bakel fort area, Muzhappilangad beach and Parassinikkadavu.
The Centre has also sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for the Paithalmala eco-tourism project, which would be completed in six months.
