Road projects to be taken up in Delhi
PM News Bureau
A project to build a tunnel from Nizamuddin bridge to Neela Gumbad in Delhi will be taken up on a priority basis. The project, which entails the construction of a 1.79-km long tunnel road, is expected to cost Rs 250 crore. It will be implemented by the state Public Works Department, Delhi Development Authority and International Trade Promotion Organisation.
On the anvil is also an elevated road along the Delhi Metro Rail track from Mandi House to ITO (Vikas Marg). Three flyovers on Outer Ring Road—at Rao Tula Ram Marg junction, Nelson Mandela Marg-Poorvi Marg intersection and Aruna Asaf Ali Marg-Africa Avenue crossing —are also in the offing. In addition, a flyover on NH-1 (Mukarba Chowk), a bridge over the pond on Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, at Naraina intersection on Ring Road, and an underpass at Shastri Park are in advanced stage of planning.
