Saudi Aramco order for SNC-Lavalin

A Business Correspondent

SNC-Lavalin Inc., the engineering and construction major from Canada, has announced that two of its subsidiaries have been selected by Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) to provide front-end engineering (FEED) and project management services for new facilities to support the treatment, supply, distribution and injection of sea water in the Khurais and Ghawar oil fields. SNC-Lavalin's contract is valued at $35 million. The project's capital cost is estimated at over $4 billion.
"We have enjoyed a continuous working relationship with Saudi Aramco for well over 10 years," said Krish Krishnamoorthy, Executive Vice-President, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. "This contract acknowledges the confidence Saudi Aramco has in our technical expertise, and clearly indicates their satisfaction with SNC-Lavalin's previous and ongoing services."
In March 2005, SNC-Lavalin Inc. acquired RJ Associates (Engineers) Pvt. Ltd, the Mumbai-based engineering and contracting firm, thus ensuring a permanent and local presence in India. SNC-Lavalin companies have offices across Canada and in 30 other countries. l
