Textile centre in Kannur

The Kerala government is setting up a textile centre in Kannur district with Central assistance. The textile centre would be established under the Central Textile Centre Infrastructure Development Scheme. Around 126 acres of land has been aquired for the purpose. The Centre has allotted Rs 20 crore towards the project on condition that the amount will be reimbursed.
The Center has also taken steps to establish a National Business Development Centre with all basic facilities at Kochi, for which 40 acres of land on the seaport-airport road at Kalamassery has been earmarked. The project would be implemented by KINFRA with public participation.
Besides this, an international animation school with Central assistance would start under KINFRA Kazhakottam Film Video Park and International Affiliation Centre.
