Project report on Nathula

The Union ministry of commerce and industry has appointed Rail India Technical and Economic Services Ltd (RITES), a multi-disciplinary consultancy organisation, to conduct a survey of the Nathula region and examine the transport, infrastructure and related technologies required to carry on trade in the Nathula region. A three-member delegation of RITES has visited Nathula and Serathang and met officials of departments that had submitted proposals for funds. The funds are yet to be sanctioned to Sikkim for trade related infrastructure development in phase-I, which would depend on the report submitted by RITES.
