Parli thermal project ready by 06
The Maharashtra State Electricity Board's 250 mw Parli thermal power project may be commissioned within the current financial year itself. As per the original schedule the power project was to go on stream by July 2006. However, the government is keen on its completion during the current year itself and is pressurising BHEL, the contracted supplier for main plant package, to expedite delivery of equipment.
MSEB is executing New Parli Extension power project wherein a single 250 mw coal-based project is being established. It may be noted that a capacity of 2x30 mw and 3x210 mw is already in operation at Parli TPS. The new power station is around 4 km from the old/existing TPS. It will come on 110 hectares of land falling in Sangam, Wadgaon and Dawoodpur villages. The foundation stone for the new project was laid in August 2004, and it is being implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 1,053 crore. PFC has sanctioned a loan of Rs 886 crore, while the state government and MSEB will contribute the balance amount of Rs 167 crore.
