Vadapalani Junction to get a flyover
PM News Bureau
The Vadapalani Junction flyover is waiting approval from the Kerala government for execution. The report was submitted in June and approval is expected to come within a fortnight. According to the State Highways Authority, the cost of constructing a flyover will sum up to Rs 25 crore. The project will be implemented by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority.
Officials had been thinking over construction of flyovers across this stretch of the Inner Ring Road for a long time to ensure smooth flow and easy entry of buses into the heart of the city. While work on the flyover at Jawaharlal Nehru Ring road has already started, the flyover at Vadapalani would further ease traffic congestion at the junction. It will take six months of discussions and consolidations after approval for the work is granted. The construction work will take at least two years.
