Kernex Microsystems to expand ACD capacity

Kernex Microsystems (India) Ltd plans to expand its manufacturing facility for anti-collision devices from 4,200 ACDs to 10,000 ACDs and create facilities for manufacturing 1,000 auto driving devices by setting up an exclusive manufacturing facility at Hardware Technology Park which is being set up by the Andhra Pradesh government at Shamshabad. The company also plans to establish an Intelligent Transportation Technology Centre for simulation and testing of advanced transportation control systems in Nalgonda district.
The company will also undertake the following at the proposed facility at Hardware Technology Park: Special R&D projects for upgrading ACDs and ADDs for international requirements, development of control and automation systems for metro and skybus projects, TAWDs, railway diagnostic system for hot bearings and implementation of SPAD feature in ACD system for the Railways.
The company also intends to establish four international marketing offices in USA, Mauritius, Italy and Thailand. Four project centres and eight nodal maintenance centres are also proposed to be established for providing decentralised and efficient maintenance support services for the ACDs installed and commissioned by the company at different locations in India.
The company plans to start work on these projects by this October. The process of undertaking special R&D projects and setting up international offices will be completed by October 2006. The company plans to complete the other projects by March 2006. The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 99.01 crore. The company is planning to fund these projects through an
IPO.
