Rays Power Experts, a leading innovative solar solutions company and an emerging solar power EPC and development entity, will be constructing a 20-MW solar plant at Morbe Dam, near Khalapur, in Maharashtra.

The Rs. 162-crore order for the world’s largest and India’s first-ever solar project on a dam has been awarded by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. The project is scheduled to be completed by March 31, 2015.
The scope of work includes complete designing, technical and engineering groundwork, installation process and commissioning of the project. A 1.5-MW hydropower plant is also to be developed, a first of its nature in India.

“This marks a momentous win for us, making us the only company in India to build a solar power plant over a dam which is also the world’s largest. We are geared to make use of innovative technology and skilled field manpower to execute the project on time,” Rahul Gupta, Director, Rays Power Experts, said.

Earlier, in October this year, Rays Power Experts completed a 20-MW turnkey solar EPC project in a solar park at Bikaner, Rajasthan. The key features of this project included the use of Canadian solar module, Hitachi Inverter, and first-of-its-kind use of ‘Suryodya’ for data acquisition system, which is exclusively developed by Rays Experts.
