OC-01Alstom India Ltd said in a release that the proposed joint venture of Alstom India Ltd and Alstom Transport SA has been issued a letter of acceptance by Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd for design, construction, supply, testing and commissioning of 2x25kV AC 50Hz electrification, signaling, and telecommunication and associated works of double track railways lines for Bhaupur-Khurja section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. The contract value works out to be approximately Rs.1,497 crore.

HCC, in joint venture with Coastal Projects Ltd, has been awarded a Rs.785 crore contract by Northeast Frontier Railway. The contract is for developing a 9.5-km tunnel between Tupul – Imphal for a new railway line project from Jiribam – Tupul, to be completed in 40 months. The share of HCC in the joint venture is 60 per cent, or Rs.471 crore. This is the fourth successive order received by HCC from Northeast Frontier Railway on the new railway line between Jiribam and Tupul. HCC is also constructing the 4.315 km long Bogibeel Rail-cum-road Bridge over river Brahmaputra near Dibrugarh, Assam for Northeast Frontier Railway.

The government of Jharkhand has issued a letter of acceptance to Jharkhand Infrastructure Implementation Company, a subsidiary of IL&FS Transportation Networks, for six-laning of a segment of the Ranchi Ring Road, on BOT basis. The section of 23.575 km runs from Kathitanr to Karma. The project is on annuity basis with a concession period of 17.5 years including construction period of 2.5 years. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.587.60 crore. The concessionaire will receive a semiannual annuity of Rs.55.82 crore. IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd, in turn, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS).

Siemens announced that it has won a crucial turnkey order worth approximately Rs.123 crore from Power Grid Company of Bangladesh. The scope of work for the project involves design, procurement, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 230/132kV GIS substation at Shyampur and 132/33kV GIS substation at Dhamrai–both sites located in Dhaka, a release from Siemens said.

Avantha Group Company CG has signed a new contract to provide ZIV protections for Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), the largest power utility company in the Middle East serving approximately five million customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With this order, CG reinforces its position as an important supplier of substation automation equipment to SEC, providing feeder protections, transformer differential protections, transformer voltage regulators and teleprotection systems, CG said in a release. CG was also recently selected as SEC’s main supplier of three phase smart meters for its smart grid deployment and has also provided voltage sensors for MV automation, the release added.

Nila Infrastructures, in a stock exchange filing, informed that it has received a work order from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for the construction of 1,152 EWS residential flats, including internal infrastructure and other development work within the plot at various locations in Ahmedabad, at an estimated cost of Rs.54.39 crore. The project, spread over 32,406 sqm constructed area, has to be completed within 24 months.

Hero Future Energies has won solar PV projects of 38 mw under the Madhya Pradesh state policy. Madhya Pradesh floated a 300 mw solar power bid this year. HFE was selected as the highest successful bidder and has been allotted 38 mw, a release from HFE said.

The engineering and project business unit of Bajaj Electricals has won an order worth Rs.89 crore from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation. The scope of work includes establishment of 2x100MVA 220/66kV and 1×12.5MVA 66/11kV substation at Mittemari in Chikkaballapur district, along with construction of three 220kV and one 66kV terminal bays and associated lines. The order value includes supply of all materials and installation including civil works, testing and commissioning.

CG has signed a global supply agreement with cement major Lafarge for electrical motors. This important agreement positions CG as one of the select few preferred global suppliers for Lafarge, a CG release said. With over 40,000 CG-made motors running in various cement factories, CG is one of the major motor suppliers to the industry. For decades now, CG has been providing the cement industry with electric motors for various applications, including unique construction of slip-ring, twin drive slip-ring and double squirrel cage motors, the release added.

ABB India has been awarded a Rs.125-crore order by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), for the extension of three substations in Vadodara, Manesar and Malerkotla. The order was booked in the second quarter of 2015. Gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) will be used to accommodate the expansion of all three existing substations. While in Vadadora and Manesar this involves the extension of the current 765/400kV GIS substations, in Malerkotla the substation will be upgraded from air-insulated switchgear (AIS) to GIS. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2016, a statement from ABB India said.

Airports Authority of India has awarded a Rs.52 crore order to Mumbai-headquartered Relcon Infraprojects Ltd. The project involves upgrade and extension of the Surat airport runway from the existing 2,250m to 2,905m. It also entails re-carpeting of the existing 2,250m runway.

Gamesa Wind Turbines Pvt Ltd has signed an order for a 250-mw wind power project with Orange Renewable, promoted by AT Holdings Pte Ltd, Singapore. Under this agreement, Gamesa will supply 125 units of its G97 – 2.0mw– T104 across the three identified sites. While 100 mw at Ananthapur and 50 mw at Ratlam are scheduled to be completed by March 2016, the 100-mw project in Agar, Madhya Pradesh is to be commissioned by September 2016.

Vestas Wind Systems has received a 46-mw order for a project in Karnataka. The order entails delivery and installation of 23 units of V110-2.0 mw turbines. The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a 15 year service agreement deal, delivery of foundations and SCADA Vestas Business Online for data-driven monitoring and preventive maintenance.
