
Ports and shipping infrastructure attracted as many as 286 tenders, according to ProjectsToday. These include corrigendum and addendum. The estimated value of all these tenders issued during the 12-month period September 2008 to August 2009 works out to Rs 4,553 crore. Some of the major tenders include :-
Paradip Port Trust floated 42 tenders worth Rs 437 crore, which included the Rs 387-crore invitation for prequalification for developing a multipurpose berth on BOT basis in August this year.
Kandla Port Trust invited 21 tenders worth Rs 866 crore. A major tender was the Rs 830-crore global RfQ floated this month for setting up single point mooring and allied facilities off Veera in Gulf of Kachchh, on PPP basis.
Tuticorin Port Trust issued 15 tenders valued at Rs 817 crore. In July 2009, the port trust invited prequalification bids for construction of north cargo berth-II for handling bulk cargo on DBFOT basis. The Rs 320-crore project was to be completed in 14 months. TPT had floated a Rs 401-crore tender for deepening of the channel and basin to cater to 12.80m draught vessels at the port in August this year.
Mumbai Port Trust invited 15 tenders worth Rs 437 crore. This included Rs 252-crore capital dredging for the development of the existing harbour wall berths (18-22) at Indira Dock. MbPt also invited bids for development of berths 1 & 2 at Indira Dock as dry bulk cargo terminals.
In February 2009, Gujarat Maritime Board invited online prequalification for development of Ro-Ro ferry terminals at Gogha in Bhavnagar district and Dahej in Bharuch district on EPC basis. The Rs 134-crore project involves construction of berthing jetty, berthing dolphin, approach jetty, link span, approach bund, dredging, and on-shore civil works.
Kolkata Port Trust called for EOI in March this year for setting up a terminal for handling cargo to and from seagoing and non-seagoing barges at different locations within KPT limits on Hooghly river at Haldia on PPP basis.
In July 2009, Cochin Port Trust invited bids worth Rs 184 crore for development of a multi-user liquid terminal on DBFOT basis at Puthuvypeen SEZ in Kerala.
Mormugao Port Trust floated tenders last month for consultancy services to prepare a feasibility report for developing Vasco Bay.
Ennore Port Trust invited global EOI for setting up a 30-million tpa LNG terminal on BOT basis.
