Launched: The fourth-leg of dredging work at Adam's Bridge and micro infrastructure projects at Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, under the Rs 2,427-crore Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project. The entire dredging work of 82.5 million cubic metres of the Sethusamudram Ship Channel has been awarded to Dredging Corporation of India Ltd. The Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project envisages dredging of a ship channel across the Palk Straits between India and Sri Lanka. The entire SSC project is scheduled for completion in July 2008.
