Visaka Industries Limited donated five ATUM (Solar Powered) Roofs to beneficiaries, from underprivileged households, in Miryalguda as part of its programme to support marginalised communities by providing them with electricity generated using ATUM Solar Roofs. The ATUM Solar roof has been given to households that have never had access to electricity. It will allow each beneficiary household substantial savings as well as access to clean power.
The five beneficiaries are Peddaboina Lingaiah from Poosalapahed village, Sankammaridi Kanthamma from Gandravari Gudem village, Bollampally Srikanth from Peddadevula Palli village, Kore Srinivas from Abangapuram village, and Kandukri Kalamma from Nandhi Pahad village.
Visaka Industries Limited took the responsibility of identifying beneficiaries and creating the complete infrastructure which will now enable these households to have electricity for the first time in their lives. Each ATUM Solar Roof, which will generate 1KW of clean and green power daily, is fabricated at the cost of INR 65,000/-. The complete package consists of a steel structure that houses the ATUM Solar Roof and can double us as an additional room used by the family; batteries that will help store the power generated by ATUM Solar Roof; and solar panels.
Visaka Industries Limited is committed to deploying ATUM Solar to generate clean power. It has plans to deploy similar 1KW Solar Roofs to support the communities in and around their manufacturing plants in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha.
