NMDC Steel Limited (NSL) proudly announces a major milestone in its production capabilities. The advanced, state-of-the-art facility has successfully produced 1 million tonnes of Hot Rolled Coil (HRC), achieving this milestone four days before the first anniversary of HR Coil production. This accomplishment reinforces NSL’s reputation as one of the fastest and most efficient plants in the industry, known for its high performance and cutting-edge technology.
This milestone follows NSL’s earlier successes in 2024. On 21 July 2024, the company reached 1.5 million tonnes of Hot Metal production from its Blast Furnace, and on 11 August 2024, it produced 1 million tonnes of Liquid Steel from the Steel Making Shop. Both achievements were realized in less than a year from the start of production, setting new industry benchmarks.
These accomplishments reflect NSL’s commitment to operational excellence and innovation. The company aims to be a leader in the steel manufacturing sector, focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and technological advancement.
This 3 MTPA steel plant, established with an investment of around Rs. 22,900 crore, features one of the widest Hot Strip Mills in India, capable of rolling HR coils of 900 mm to 1650 mm width and 1 mm to 16 mm thickness. The plant, located at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh, began commercial production of HR Coils on 31 August 2023.
