Following a strong performance in the preceding months, where finalized project orders stood at ₹78,466.14 crore in November 2024, ₹64,240.49 crore in December 2024, and ₹65,856.44 crore in January 2025, February 2025 saw a decline in both the number and value of projects awarded. According to ProjectsToday.com, 342 project contracts worth ₹56,174.08 crore were finalised during the month. Despite the slowdown, the continued transition of projects from the planning phase to execution indicates a steady investment flow across key sectors.
Among the major sectors, the Coal Power sector led with seven contracts worth ₹21,091.62 crore, accounting for 37.55 percent of the total contract value finalized in February. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd secured three high-value contracts amounting to ₹20,900 crore. These included an ₹8,000 crore contract from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company for its Koradi 2×660 MW project, a ₹6,700 crore contract from Singareni Collieries Company for the Singareni Thermal Power Project (Stage II, 1×800 MW) in Telangana, and a ₹6,200 crore contract from Damodar Valley Corporation for the Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II (2×660 MW) in West Bengal.
The Roadways sector saw 107 contracts worth ₹4,440.29 crore, accounting for 7.90 percent of the total orders finalized. Key contracts included a ₹1,169.6 crore contract awarded to JSP Projects by the National Highways Authority of India for developing a four-lane economic corridor from Kharagpur to Chandrakona Ghatal Road Crossing in West Bengal under the Hybrid Annuity Model. AMR India secured a ₹531.9 crore contract from PWD Manipur for improving roads in Imphal City, while Bharat Constructions received a ₹515 crore contract from the National Highways Authority of India for the balance work of upgrading a four-lane highway from km 88.400 (Savali Vihir) to km 163.400 (Start of Ahmednagar Bypass) in Maharashtra.
The Railways sector followed closely with 11 contracts amounting to ₹4,359.37 crore, accounting for 7.76 percent of total contracts. Among the notable awards, H.G. Infra Engineering, in a joint venture with DEC Infrastructure, secured a ₹2,195.68 crore order from Rail Land Development Authority for the redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, in partnership with Rithwik Projects, received a ₹613 crore order for developing nine suburban rail stations under the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project.
The Power Distribution sector saw the finalization of 21 contracts worth ₹4,332.25 crore. Jyoti Structures secured a ₹389.36 crore contract from Adani Energy Solutions for the supply of towers, foundations, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 765 kV DC Transmission Line 1B of Boisar II-Pune III on a turnkey basis.
The Solar Power sector concluded 13 contracts worth ₹3,778.74 crore. Among the awarded contracts, Gensol Engineering secured a ₹967.98 crore order from NTPC Renewable Energy for a 245 MW Solar PV Project at RE Solar Park, Khavda Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.
The Railway Wagons sector finalized seven contracts, including a ₹537.11 crore contract awarded to Titagarh Rail Systems by Adani Cement Industries for manufacturing and supplying 16 BCFCM rakes with BVCM wagons.
The Indian Real Estate sector saw the awarding of 16 contracts in February 2025. Among these, Varindera Constructions secured a ₹955 crore contract from NBCC India for the redevelopment of the GPRA Colony at Sarojini Nagar in New Delhi.
The Water Sewerage Pipeline and Distribution sector, predominantly driven by state government agencies, finalized 28 contracts. N. P. Patel & Company secured a ₹308.83 crore contract from the Urban Administration & Development Department, Madhya Pradesh, for a sewerage project in Ujjain City.
The Hospital sector concluded six contracts in February 2025. Among them, B G Shirke Construction Technology secured a ₹644.61 crore contract from Military Engineer Services for constructing a modern multi-storied hospital complex at CHAF Bangalore on an engineering, procurement, and construction basis.
