Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah, on the occasion of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various development projects worth about Rs 1,723 crore of the Delhi Government under the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ in New Delhi. On this occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Shri Harsh Malhotra, and many other dignitaries were present.
He said that when Shri Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country, it was decided to celebrate his birthday as ‘Seva Pakhwada’. For the past 11 years, the entire nation has been celebrating Seva Pakhwada from 17th September to 2nd October. Shri Shah said that under Seva Pakhwada, village panchayats, district panchayats, state governments, and various offices of the Government of India not only undertake cleanliness drives but also launch many welfare schemes for the poor. He further said that today the Delhi Government too has started Seva Pakhwada and has launched 17 public welfare schemes.
He added that in the last 11 years, Prime Minister Modi has not only provided facilities to 60 crore poor citizens of the country but also helped 25 crore people rise above the poverty line. Shri Shah said that bringing 25 crore people above the poverty line and providing basic facilities to 60 crore people is a very big effort and resolution. He said that the beginning of Sewa Pakhwada will inspire every youth of the country to take inspiration from Prime Minister Modi’s life and commit themselves to service of others.
Shri Amit Shah highlighted that the long-standing desire of the nation to build a Ram Temple in Ayodhya was fulfilled during PM Modi’s tenure with the construction of a grand temple. He mentioned that whether it was about building the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, restoring the Somnath Temple with gold, or constructing the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, Modi Ji resolved many long-pending issues. The Home Minister said that PM Modi abolished Article 370 in his second term. Shri Shah said that in his 24 years of public service, Modi Ji has never taken a day off, tirelessly working every moment for the country’s development and the welfare of the poor. He said that this dedication has elevated India from the 11th to the 4th largest economy globally, with a goal to reach the 3rd position by 2027. He said that such astonishing achievements are possible through determination and selfless work.
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said that during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, PM Modi resolved to make India the top nation globally. Shri Shah said that Modi ji has set a goal for India to lead in every field by August 15, 2047, uniting the entire nation with this vision. He emphasized that Modi ji is moving forward with the resolve to build a developed, secure, and prosperous India. Shri Shah also announced the inauguration of the Narela-Bawana Waste-to-Energy Plant in Delhi, which will process 3,000 tons of waste, alongside the Okhla plant handling 2,000 metric tons, to generate electricity, boosting the circular economy and green energy. He said, from the massive garbage mounds that once shamed the people of Delhi, the Modi government is starting to generate electricity from it. He said that the Modi government has reduced GST on essential items from 28% and 18% to 5% or zero percent. Shri Shah said that Modi ji has lowered taxes to zero or 5% on 395 items used by the common man. He urged people to buy domestically produced goods, emphasizing that every Indian should resolve to purchase Indian-made products. He stressed that promoting indigenous goods should become a habit and a collective resolve to achieve a prosperous India.
