Atul Punj, Chairman of the diversified EPC conglomerate, Punj Lloyd, has been unanimously elected as President of IPLOCA 2015-16 (International Pipe Line & Offshore Contractors Association), an international industry body representing over 240 key players in the onshore and offshore pipeline construction industry worldwide. Atul, who has been on the IPLOCA Board as Director, East & Far East since last year will be taking over the baton from Jean-Claude Van de Wiele, a release from Punj Lloyd said. As President of IPLOCA, Atul will be at the helm of decisions to promote the highest standards in the pipeline industry and facilitate business opportunities for the various members, the release added.
Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, IPLOCA’s inception can be traced back to 1966 when the then leaders of the international pipeline construction industry established the International Pipe Line Contractors Association (IPLCA) as the international division of the Pipe Line Contractors Association (PLCA) of the United States.
