BridgeUnion Railway Minister Piyush Goyal will inaugurate four-lane cable-stayed railway overbridge (ROB) at Barddhaman in West Bengal on 30 September 2019. This is considered to be the country’s second largest ROB.

The cable-stayed overbridge is of 188.43 mtr high. Besides, 1.5 mtr wide footpaths on each of the sides parallel to the lanes, the overbridge has 27.7 mtr of width to accommodate vehicles on four lanes.

The work on the ROB has been completed in a mere 197 days without affecting traffic for even a single day. The project has been constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore.

The project has been completed under a 50:50 partnership between the Ministry of Railways and the West Bengal government.
