Indian Oil Corporation has not yet received forest NOC from Odisha government for its Paradip-Haldia-Durgapur LPG pipeline project. IOC had applied for NOC in October 2011 and till date NOC has remained elusive despite constant follow ups. The project which is scheduled for commissioning in December 2014 may not be able to meet its deadline unless the Odisha government speeds up the process of issuing NOC.

The Paradip-Haldia-Durgapur LPG pipeline project envisages laying of Paradip – Haldia – Durgapur LPG pipeline of 700 km in length in West Bengal and Odisha. The proposed pipeline will be used for transportation of LPG from Paradip and Haldia to the LPG bottling plants at Balasore, Budge Budge, Kalyani and Durgapur. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 913 crore.
