The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) sanctioned an amount of Rs 9,700 crore for various projects and activities in Assam in FY22. This includes Rs 7,600 crore for infrastructure projects of state government, Rs 2065 crore to various financial institutions, among others. Moreover, an amount of Rs 26.30 crore was extended as grant for various development interventions like setting up of farmer producers’ organizations, tribal development programs, micro-credit innovation projects, among others.

Nexcharge, an exclusive joint venture between Exide Industries (Exide) and Leclanché SA, announced the inauguration of its state-of-the-art, fully automated manufacturing plant at Prantij, Gujarat. The plant, which is spread across 6,10,098 sq ft (total area) is the largest in India for the production of li-ion battery packs and modules (pouch/ prismatic/ cylindrical). The facility has six fully automated assembly lines and testing labs with an installed capacity of 1.5 GWh and will cater energy storage systems for India’s electric vehicle market and grid-based applications. The company has invested more than Rs 250 crore in this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The company can now make 3 V to 1000 V battery packs with sizes varying from 10 cm to two mtr. The company’s production setup is divided into three sections- the module assembly has three production lines for assembling cylindrical, pouch, and prismatic cells. The pack assembly has two lines for high voltage and low voltage packs and the last one, the FG Testing section has a set of 20 testers for charging and discharging cycle and BMS functioning.
