    CIL to infuse over Rs 5,650 crore to build solar projects

    The construction and mining equipment business of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured one of its biggest orders ever to supply 46 units of Komatsu mining equipment from Tata Steel. The order comprises of 41 units of Komatsu HD785-7 (100 tonne dump truck), three units of Komatsu WA900-3E0 (nine cum wheel loader) and two units of Komatsu D275A-5R (410 HP crawler dozer). The scope includes supply of equipment and full maintenance contract for 60,000 hours of equipment operation. The company has received the order from Tata Steel for their iron ore and coal mines. Of the 46 units, 26 will be deployed at Tata Steel's iron ore mines at Joda, Noamundi and Khondbond in Odisha, while 20 units of Komatsu 100 tonne dump trucks will be deployed at Tata Steel's West Bokaro coal mines in Jharkhand.

    The Drinking Water & Sanitation Department, Jharkhand has floated tender for Palajori Block Rural Water Supply Scheme. The scope of work involves detailed survey, designing and drawing, construction of RCC intake well cum pump house, RCC gangway 252 mtr long and 3.50 mtr wide, 34.0 MLD capacity conventional water treatment plant, eight RCC elevated service reservoir, staff quarter, compound wall, supplying and laying raw and clear water rising main and distribution network, house connection, supplying and installation of VT and centrifugal pump motor. It will have five years operation & maintenance with allied works etc for Palajori Block Rural Water Supply Scheme under DW&S Division, Madhupur in Jharkhand on turnkey basis (under Jal Jeevan Mission). The work will be completed in 33 months at a cost of Rs 208.22 crore.

    Larsen & Toubro delivers India's first launch hardware for Gaganyaan Mission Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has delivered the first hardware, a booster segment, for Gaganyaan Launch Vehicle to ISRO ahead of schedule in a virtual flag-off ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Dr K Sivan, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Notwithstanding the limitations imposed by COVID-19, the middle segment of the world's third-largest solid propellant rocket booster - 'S-200,' has been delivered ahead of schedule with zero-defects. The segment was produced at L&T’s Powai Aerospace Manufacturing facility meeting the enhanced quality and timeline requirements for India's maiden manned mission. The critical booster segment, with a diameter of 3.2 mtr, 8.5 mtr in length and weighing 5.5 tonne, was jointly flagged off in a virtual event. GSLV Mk III launcher which is ISRO's heavy-lift launcher is identified for Gaganyaan mission given its requisite payload carrying capacity for launching an orbiter module in a desired elliptical orbit. The S-200 forms the solid propellant booster for this launch vehicle.
