    Meghmani Finechem (MFL) has announced the commissioning of Epichlorohydrin (ECH) plant of 50,000 tpa capacity. The plant has been commissioned on time and without any cost overrun. Meghmani Finechem is the first company in India to commission an ECH plant, a currently fully imported product. This will reduce the dependence of ECH consumer on imports. ECH can be manufactured through propylene or glycerin process, with glycerin process. MFL has opted the glycerin process, where key raw material being used is a fully renewable resource. This process significantly reduces the energy and water consumption thereby reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

    Va Tech Wabag (WABAG) has secured an engineering and procurement order worth around EUR 18 million (around Rs 149 crore) from DL E&C CO, Korea. The order is for water treatment package for the EuroChem Methanol Production facility in Kingisepp, Russia. The company’s scope includes design, engineering and supply, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of the plant and is scheduled to be completed over 15 months period. The project will employ softening, Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis technologies to treat brine water which will be reused as process water in the facility.
