AAI first flight test landing at greenfield airport in Arunachal PradeshThe Airports Authority of India (AAI) conducts first flight test landing at greenfield airport Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Hollongi Greenfield Airport is all set to be operational from 15 August 2022, with the first flight test landing conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on 19 July 2022.

A Dornier aircraft, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics, landed at the airport. The airport has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs 645 crore and can accommodate 200 passengers during peak hours.

Earlier, the completion target of the project was in November 2022. Later, it has been advanced to August 2022.

Once commissioned, the airport will be the first in the state with a runway of 2,300 mtr, suitable for the landing and take-off of Boeing 747.
