ABB India has opened its new state-of-the-art factory in Nashik, Maharashtra, doubling its Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) production capacity. The plant will produce primary and secondary GIS.
The factory is spread across 78,000 sq ft and is equipped with smart and lean manufacturing capabilities. It uses advanced manufacturing robotics to connect people, processes, and assets while also relaying real-time data for increased productivity.
ABB India also introduced the PrimeGear ZX0 in the Nashik factory. This eco-efficient switchgear is built on ABB’s SF6-free ecoGIS with Dry Air technology for applications up to 12 kV.
