First Solar Power India is setting up a solar modules manufacturing unit at Pillaipakkam in Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu.
The fully vertically integrated photovoltaic thin film solar modules unit will have capacity of 3.3 GW. The foundation stone for the project was laid in November 2021 and soon work on the project commenced.
As per the latest information available with Projects Today, around 25 percent work on the project has been completed.
The project is expected to be completed by June 2023.
