Bharathi Cement has commissioned 10 MW ground-mounted solar power plant in its manufacturing facility located at Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh on 16 September 2019.

The plant has been executed by Fourth Partner Energy, in a record 60 days. The solar power plant is expected to generate 1.6 crore units of electricity annually and help reduce Bharathi Cement’s overall energy costs by reducing its reliance on thermal power.

The 10 MW solar plant, for captive electricity consumption, is spread over 41 acre in Bharathi Cement’s five million tpa manufacturing unit in Kadapa.

French Construction conglomerate the Vicat Group owns 51 percent stake in Bharathi Cement and operates this facility. Prior to this solar installation, the Vicat Group also engaged Fourth Partner Energy in 2018 to set up a one MW solar plant at its Bharathi Polymers facility.
