Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 246 km stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

The Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section will reduce the travel time from Delhi to Jaipur from five hours to around three-and-a-half hours. Moreover, rural haats are being developed around the expressway for local artisans.

The first completed stretch is a part of the government’s Golden Quadrilateral project. The estimated cost of the project is over Rs 12,150 crore.

The first stretch is the precursor to 1,386 km Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. It will pass through six states – Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
