Foundation stone laid for Integrated Development of East Delhi HubUnion Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for Integrated Development of East Delhi Hub on 26 December 2019. Various developmental projects for Delhi were also announced.

Creation of riverfronts on both banks of Yamuna and its beautification, a dedicated cycle track in Delhi to promote green transportation and reduce road accidents, development of JJ clusters are some of the works will be taken on priority basis.

An amount worth Rs 1,400 crore and 30 ha of land have been dedicated for this scheme. This will be a mixed use scheme, with 70 percent land earmarked for residential purposes, 20 percent for commercial purposes and 10 percent land for public facilities.

The scheme would include housing for poor as well as stations for pink and violet Metro Lines. The housing will include 4,526 units for middle class and 288 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). Moreover, 30 percent area will be marked as green open public space, which would help mitigate pollution.

Public facilities in the hub will include a Harit Bhawan, a cultural centre, a skywalk and basement parking facilities, among others.
