K Cement has inaugurated its new grey cement grinding unit at Balasinor in Mahisagar district of Gujarat on 24 October 2020.
The unit has a manufacturing capacity of 0.7 million tpa. The plant is spread over an area of eight ha and has been set up at a total project cost of Rs 200 crore.
It is part of the company’s total funding outlay of Rs 2,000 crore to add 4.2 million tpa capacity, comprising two million tpa in Rajasthan, 1.5 million tpa in Uttar Pradesh and 0.7 million tpa in Gujarat.
With this, the company’s total installed grey cement capacity has increased to 14.7 million tpa.
The new plant will not only create employment opportunities for locals but will also facilitate access to quality cement for consumers, coupled with on-time delivery. The new plant marks the company’s foray into Western India.
The plant will allow the company to cater to the demand in high-potential markets such as Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, among others.
