The Cochin Port Trust (CoPT) has initiated work on Multi-User Liquid Terminal (MULT) jetty and aims to complete the same by March 2016. CoPT has completed geotechnical investigation studies and mooring analysis and based on these inputs designing aspects of the Jetty will be decided. The CoPT has already appointed a Front End Engineering Design (FEED) consultant, and preparation of basic engineering drawings, documents and project specifications are in an advanced stage.
Along with this jetty, another project is coming up, that is, 600-TMTPA LPG import facility, being built by IOC. To avoid idling of facilities, the mechanical completion of the Rs. 607-crore import terminal is being synchronised with the construction of the jetty.
