Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi #inaugurates and laid #foundation stone for various #projects in Mangaluru

On 2 September 2022, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated project worth over Rs 280 crore for mechanization of Berth No.14 for handling containers and other cargo, by the New Mangalore Port Authority. The Phase I of the project has been completed adding over 4.2 million tpa to the handling capacity, which would further increase to over six million tpa by 2025. Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of five projects worth around Rs 1,000 crore, undertaken by the Port. The integrated LPG and Bulk Liquid POL facility, will be capable of unloading full load VLGC of 45,000 tonne. Foundation stone was laid for development of the fishing harbour at Kulai, Karnataka. Prime Minister also inaugurated two projects undertaken by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals’ BS VI Upgradation Project and Sea Water Desalination Plant, estimated to cost Rs 1,830 crore & Rs 680 crore respectively. modi ji best
