In a move towards advancing green energy and sustainability, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the NTPC Green Energy Limited’s Green Hydrogen Hub Project in Pudimadaka, near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This initiative, the first under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, represents an investment of approximately ₹1,85,000 crore. The project will establish 20 GW of renewable energy capacity and is set to become one of India’s largest integrated facilities for green hydrogen production, with a capacity of 1,500 TPD of Green Hydrogen and 7,500 TPD of Green Hydrogen derivatives such as Green Methanol, Green Urea, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel, primarily targeting exports. It will play a crucial role in achieving India’s non-fossil energy capacity goal of 500 GW by 2030.
Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated, laid foundation stones, and dedicated several railway and road projects worth ₹19,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh. These include the South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam, among other projects aimed at reducing congestion, improving connectivity, and driving regional economic and social development.
Reinforcing his commitment to accessible and affordable healthcare, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli in the Anakapalli district. Strategically located near the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical, and Petrochemical Investment Region, this park is expected to generate thousands of jobs and contribute to economic growth.
Moreover, the Prime Minister initiated the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) in Tirupati district, under the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. Envisioned as a greenfield smart industrial city, this flagship project under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme is expected to attract investments of ₹10,500 crore and generate around 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs, thereby boosting regional development and livelihoods.
