Telangana to set up 600 electric vehicle charging stations

Telangana to set up 600 electric vehicle charging stationsTelangana is planning to set up around 600 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The state government had already set up 138 charging stations for the benefit of EV users.

The effort is to encourage new users into the fold. The use of electric vehicles was an effective option in dealing with environmental pollution.

Telangana Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy inaugurated the EV Trade Expo organised by the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO) at Hitex.

The government is offering incentives for players opting to manufacture the EVs in the state. Apart from this, the state has brought out an Energy Storage Solutions Policy to support the manufacturing of the batteries and storage solutions required by the EV industry by offering further incentives.

The use of EV vehicles is on the rise but many have doubts about the availability of having adequate charging infrastructure. In order to address this, the state is planning to add about 600 EV charging stations shortly.
