Three highways worth Rs 44,000 crore approved in Arunachal PradeshThe Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari announced three highways entailing a total investment of Rs 44,000 crore in Arunachal Pradesh.

The total length of the three highways will be 2,574 km. The three highways are – Two-lane Frontier Highway of 1,465 kms (Rs. 27,349 crores); a two-lane inter-connectivity corridor of 1,048 kms (Rs. 15,720 crores) and a two-lane Brahmakund (Parshuramkund) to Chowkham of 61 kms (Rs. 915 crores).The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of these projects are under preparation.

The frontier highway will pass through districts of East Kameng, West Kameng, Upper Subansiri, Upper Siang, Dibang Valley, Lohit & Anjaw. The inter-connectivity corridor will pass through Upper Siang, Upper Subansiri, East Kameng, Tawang, East and West Siang and the Brahmakund (Parshuramkund) to Chowkham Road project by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) will improve connectivity with tourist destinations, like – Parshuram Kund and Lohit Valley.
