Voltbek Home Appliances, joint venture between Voltas and and Europe’s consumer durables manufacturer Arçelik, has launched its first manufacturing facility in Sanand in Gujarat.
The company has made an investment to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore. The unit is spread over 60 acre of land parcel and will manufacture home appliances that include refrigerators and washing machines.
The factory is one of the first white goods appliances unit in Gujarat that will create an OEM base for home appliances in the region. Moreover, employment opportunities will be created for locals.
The brand aims to increase its product portfolio and develop new innovative products specifically designed for Indian consumers. The company will also produce direct cool refrigerators and the facility will reach its annual production capacity of 2.5 million units by 2025.
