Sarjak Container Lines Pvt. Ltd has been honoured for excellence in the transportation and logistics sector at the SME Business Excellence Awards 2014 in the Mid-Corporate Segment. The Awards have been promoted Times Group, Federal Bank, and Dun & Bradstreet to recognise India’s leading SMEs. The awards programme was conceptualised under the theme ‘It’s Time to let the World Know’. The event was held in New Delhi recently.
Chief Guest Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance, Government of India, released D&B’s premier publication, ‘Leading SMEs of India 2014,’ along with Kaushal Sampat, President and Managing Director – India, Dun & Bradstreet, Abraham Chacko, Executive Director, Federal Bank Ltd, and Ravindra Nath, Chairman and Managing Director, National Small Industries Corporation Ltd.
Jayant Sinha felicitated the 27 award winners from across 21 categories who were chosen by an eminent jury panel of industry experts that included M.V. Tanksale, Chief Executive, Indian Banks’ Association, M.S. Unnikrishnan, Managing Director and CEO, Thermax Ltd, and Sankar Chakraborti, Chief Executive Officer, SMERA Ratings Ltd.
The awards ceremony also saw a panel discussion on ‘Indian SMEs – Making the journey from the $1 million to the $100 million mark’. The panelists included Ashutosh Khajuria, President (Treasury) and Network Head 2, Federal Bank Ltd; Sankar Chakraborti, CEO, SMERA Ratings Ltd; Ravindra Nath, CMD, National Small Industries Corporation Ltd; Ajay Thakur, Head – SME Segment, BSE SME Platform; Satya Rao, CMD, Axiom Consulting Pvt. Ltd; and D.K. Aggarwal, CMD, SMC Comtrade Ltd.
