Shailesh R. Naik, a civil engineer based in New York, USA, is principal of the multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy firm Charles A. Manganaro Consulting Engineers, P.C. Although he has a background in structural engineering, Shailesh has extensive experience in the design of numerous water and wastewater facilities and rehabilitation of water and sewer infrastructure. Manganaro Engineers is currently working on rehabilitation of very large bore sewers in one of the busiest highway corridors in the state of New Jersey.
In more than 23 years of experience in designing water and sewerage facilities, Shailesh has been involved in the planning, feasibility studies, permitting, analysis and preparation of design reports and contract documents for projects. His work includes hydraulic analysis and design of various plant processes, design and rehabilitation of sewer infrastructure, development of hydraulic models for sewer systems, and structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures using computational methods and computer software. Additionally, he prepares and negotiates change orders for water and wastewater treatment plants. His expertise also includes structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures.
Shailesh is on the board of the Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects and has served as the president of Global Organization of People of Indian Origin – Connecticut Chapter. He was recently awarded ‘Outstanding Engineer in Private Practice’ by the Westchester/Putnam Chapter of New York State Society of Professional Engineers. A civil engineering graduate form University of Bombay, he completed his Master’s from Clemson University.
