New Delhi- On World Refrigeration Day, ISHRAE with Institute of Refrigeration (UK) and National Centre for Cold Chain Development aims to highlight the importance of refrigeration in the modern society. Together they will be raising awareness about ‘refrigeration’ which in its widest sense, is the process of achieving and maintaining a required temperature below that of its surrounding area.

In a country like India where four out of every 10 children are unable to meet their full human potential due to poor food security, the use of refrigeration – that includes preservation and distribution of perishable food items, life saving drugs and vaccines – needs focussed attention. In order to bring about this change, ISHRAE along with the IoR – UK, NCCD and other stakeholders will highlight innovation, efficiency and standards for the refrigeration industry on World Refrigeration Day. A follow up exhibition-cum-conference called RefCold will be held in Hyderabad from 21 to 23 November 2019.

On the occasion of World Refrigeration Day, a webinar is being organised on 26 June 2019 with participation from ISHRAE, IoR, NCCD and CEPT. The discussion about refrigeration and its importance together with its technical aspects would be addressed by a galaxy of speakers which includes Mr. C. Subramaniam (Immediate Past President of ISHRAE).

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has more than 28,780 HVAC&R professionals and Student-members. ISHRAE operates from 41 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors.
