Talong Londa HEP_ProjectsMonitorThe Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has accorded concurrence to Talong Londa Hydroelectric project. The project to be executed by GMR Londa Hydro Power Pvt. Ltd is estimated to cost Rs. 2,172.88 crore. The project envisages setting up of 225 MW (3×75 MW) Talong hydro electric power plant on the River Kameng in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. GLHPPL had submitted the report to CEA in May 2013.

Concurrence has been accorded subject to fulfillment of certain conditions which include GLHPL to incorporate the suggestions/observations of Central Water Commission (CWC) on Hydrology, Hydel Civil Design, Concrete Design, Gate Design, Foundation Engineering & Seismic Design and other Inter-state and International aspects.

The project will be funded through a debt-equity ratio of 70:30, wherein the total equity of Rs. 651.86 crore will come through the internal resources of the parent company GMR Energy Limited and the debt of Rs. 1,521.02 crore will be financed through domestic loan.

Work on the run-of-the-river HEP is slated to start from November 1, 2014 and is scheduled to be completed in 5 years. While the first unit of the three unit project is schedule for commission in the 58th month, the 2nd and 3rd unit may be commissioned in the 59th and 60th month, respectively.
