Samrudhi Sugars Limited, which has 14 MW cogeneration power plant, is likely to start power export to the tune of 7.2 MW to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) from November 2014. Samrudhi Sugars had received the synchronization permission only in March 2014.

Samrudhi Sugars had set up a sugar manufacturing unit with an installed capacity of 3,500 tonne crushed per day (TCD) and cogeneration power plant of 14 MW in Jalna district of Maharashtra in 2010. However, due to non availability of right of way, Samrudhi Sugars was not able to transmit the power to the substations and was utilizing only 4 MW of power for captive consumption. The issue was resolved only last year and the company received synchronization permission last month.
