Highway Projects

On March 5th, 2024, Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 15 National Highway projects and one Ropeway project in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, totaling Rs. 4,000 crore. Notable attendees included BJP National President and Member of Parliament, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shri Anurag Thakur, Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Shri Vikramaditya Singh, along with MLAs and officials.

These projects encompass various endeavours such as road construction, the construction of bridges, cable stay bridges, ropeways, slope protection works, and tunnels. Examples include the construction of Theog bypass on Devrighat-Premghat, a 196 mtr. long bridge on the Kalruhi section, and a 225 mtr. long Dhaliyara bridge on National Highway 503 in Kangra district.

Completion of these projects will significantly enhance connectivity, reducing distances between various regions and improving access to important sites such as the Darlaghat Cement Factory and AIIMS Bilaspur. The cable-stayed bridge on Govind Sagar Lake and the ropeway to the Bijli Mahadev Temple will notably shorten travel times and provide all-weather connectivity to thousands of pilgrims daily.
