On February 22, 2024, the Prime Minister of India unveiled a series of projects aimed at bolstering infrastructure and development across Gujarat. These projects encompassed a diverse range of sectors including internet connectivity, transportation, healthcare, education, water supply, and more.

Key highlights of the day included the inauguration of Bharat Net Phase-II – Gujarat Fibre Grid Network Limited, a significant initiative set to deliver high-speed internet access to over 8,000 gram panchayats. Additionally, railway expansion projects, road construction endeavours in various districts, and the establishment of educational and healthcare facilities marked notable steps towards comprehensive development.

During the event, foundation stones were laid for various endeavours such as district-level hospitals, temple and lake development, runway expansion for the Air Force, and the launch of important scientific and research facilities. Water supply augmentation projects and initiatives to boost rural infrastructure were also inaugurated, reflecting a holistic approach towards addressing the state’s developmental needs.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister dedicated several development projects, including sections of the Vadodara Mumbai Expressway, rural drinking water supply projects, and underground drainage systems. The commencement of work on the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Navsari showcased a commitment to fostering industrial growth and employment opportunities.

Moreover, the Prime Minister laid the groundwork for the construction of the Bharuch-Dahej expressway, initiated railway gauge conversion projects, and unveiled plans for multiple road infrastructure enhancements. These endeavours aimed to enhance connectivity, facilitate smoother transportation, and stimulate economic activity across the region.

In addition to these initiatives, significant strides were made in the energy sector with the dedication of two new Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) at the Kakrapar Atomic Power Station. These indigenous reactors, equipped with advanced safety features, are poised to significantly contribute to the clean energy landscape of the nation.
