Filatex India, a manufacturer of polyester and polypropylene multifilament yarn and polyester chips, is now looking to foray into the home textiles segment. It recently completed a Rs 850 crore expansion.
The company is now planning to enter the fabrics business, mainly home textiles. It is still finalising plans, as the foray into textiles segment will involve an investment of Rs 100 crore.
The company operates two plants, located at Dahej in Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. It plans to start the home textile business in early 2020.
The firm is now looking whether it will set up the manufacturing unit in Maharashtra which offers sops to attract new businesses.
With this, the company’s capacity will increase from 3.28 lakh tpa to 3.9 lakh tpa.
