The Kolkata headquartered Vikram Solar has supplied solar modules for a 2.45MW grid connected solar park at Osterburg in Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt of Germany. The company has tied up with GermanPV, the developer of the project for supply of modules.
The complete set of solar photovoltaic modules has been supplied by Vikram Solar for the solar park which will generate 2.39 MWh/year of power and would sustain the demand of 1,000 households. The project would result in C02-savings of 1.7 tonnes per year approximately. The project is a part of the GermanPV portfolio of more than 100MWp. Umweltbank AG, a German Environmental bank, has financed the project.
Tobias Sommer, Director Procurement, GermanPV said, “The direct line to decision makers in Europe as well as in India has helped to realise this project on a very tight construction schedule. This solar park has definitely paved the ground for future projects with Vikram Solar.”
Gyanesh Chaudhary, Managing Director, Vikram Solar said, “We are extremely encouraged to service European markets. We also hope to work with GermanPV again in future.”
Vikram Solar is part of the 35 year old Vikram Group of companies engaged in engineering and manufacturing activities. Its 40,000 sq ft facility at Falta special economic zone has a 150 MW installed production capacity. Vikram Solar has a global presence with offices in Europe and Africa.
