Total imports (including both merchandise and services) for June 2024 are projected to be USD 73.47 billion, showing a growth of 6.29 percent compared to June 2023.

For the period of April to June 2024, India’s total exports are estimated at USD 200.33 billion, marking a growth of 8.60 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Total imports for this period are estimated at USD 222.89 billion, reflecting a growth of 8.47 percent compared to April to June 2023.

Merchandise Trade

Merchandise exports in June 2024 were USD 35.20 billion, up from USD 34.32 billion in June 2023. Merchandise imports in June 2024 were USD 56.18 billion, up from USD 53.51 billion in June 2023.

From April to June 2024, merchandise exports were USD 109.96 billion, compared to USD 103.89 billion in the same period in 2023. Merchandise imports during April to June 2024 were USD 172.23 billion, compared to USD 160.05 billion in April to June 2023. The merchandise trade deficit for April to June 2024 was USD 62.26 billion, compared to USD 56.16 billion in the same period in 2023.

Non-petroleum and non-gems & jewellery exports in June 2024 were USD 27.43 billion, up from USD 25.29 billion in June 2023. Non-petroleum and non-gems & jewellery imports in June 2024 were USD 36.04 billion, up from USD 33.66 billion in June 2023.

For the period of April to June 2024, non-petroleum and non-gems & jewellery exports were USD 81.90 billion, compared to USD 77.33 billion in April to June 2023. Non-petroleum and non-gems & jewellery imports for April to June 2024 were USD 105.35 billion, compared to USD 102.10 billion in April to June 2023.

Service Trade

The estimated value of services exports for June 2024 is USD 30.27 billion, compared to USD 27.79 billion in June 2023. The estimated value of services imports for June 2024 is USD 17.29 billion, compared to USD 15.61 billion in June 2023.

For the period of April to June 2024, the estimated value of service exports is USD 90.37 billion, compared to USD 80.57 billion in the same period in 2023. The estimated value of service imports for April to June 2024 is USD 50.67 billion, compared to USD 45.45 billion in April to June 2023. The services trade surplus for April to June 2024 is USD 39.70 billion, compared to USD 35.12 billion in April to June 2023.
