IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd has emerged as the preferred bidder for four laning of Solapur-Yedeshi section of NH-211 from km 0.000 to km 100.000 (98.7 km stretch) in Maharashtra. The BOT (Toll) project would be executed on DBFOT Pattern under NHDP Phase-IV.

With the NHAI decided to go back to the EPC mode of awarding the projects, it resumed the toll road contracts by awarding IRB the Solapur-Yedeshi four-laning project.

The project cost is estimated to Rs.1,500 crore. The company has asked Rs.189 crore as viability gap funding from NHAI. The Centre offers 40 per cent of the project cost for the Toll projects.

IRB would develop the Solapur-Yedeshi section on DBFOT basis. The project with a concession period of 29 years is expected to be completed in two and a half years.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the project in September 2013. In October, NHAI announced 28 bids as pre-qualified bidders including major players like GVK Transportation Pvt. Ltd; IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd; L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Ltd; Simplex Infrastructures Ltd; HCC Concessions-Vinci Consortium; etc.

By winning the above order, the current order book of the company raises to Rs.5,050 crore, which is to be executed in the next two to three years. The company has 18 toll projects, of which 16 are operational.
